American manufacturer of application software for real-time data management is looking for Pre-sale Engineer, who provide technical support and leadership for the Sales Organization. These engineers must be experts in the PI System and its implementation and be able to clearly communicate this knowledge to our customers. Their goal is to increase the sales team effectiveness by providing a strong technical leader to the sales process and thereby shorten the sales cycle and increase sales value.


  • Acting as the PI System expert to answer questions and explain the value of the PI System
  • Pre-sales Systems Engineering. This may range from suggesting and explaining typical deployment scenarios to full engineering and deployment of demonstration systems
  • Plan and conduct mid
  • to upper level business and technical value workshops, such as the PI Discovery Workshop, the PI Innovation Workshop and the Business Impact Workshop (Senior)
  • Manage and assist customers on the Critical Accounts list as required
  • Help develop new business by thinking entrepreneurially about the sales engagements you support and the industries you are passionate about
  • Present and/or provide technical support at User Conferences, Developer Conferences and Regional Seminars
  • Provide technical support and/or leadership (Senior) on special customer projects working with the Global Solutions Group and other Systems Engineering teams
  • Provide support as needed to other groups in the Sales and CSS organizations
  • Provide technical support / leadership (Senior) for partners in deployment scenarios, implementation, and testing


  • Strong technical knowledge of the entire PI System. Must be capable of installing, configuring and explaining the value of all PI System components. This includes interfaces, servers, client applications and portal applications. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Platforms leveraged by the PI System, including SharePoint, PowerPivot, and SQL Server
  • This is a customer facing position. Must work as a supporting member of the pursuit team and take direction from the owner of the opportunity. They must possess interest and curiosity in technical and business aspects of our customers
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Must have strong presentation and written skills
  • Understanding of the sales process
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
